Flower/Herb Picking?

It would need to be an area where dogs aren't allowed and that rule is enforced. I'm reluctant to go to any park near me given the near certainty that everything is covered in dog pee.

honestly, your best bet is to head a bit out to the Grunewald forest, specifically the area around Teufelssee. it's a proper Naturschutzgebiet, so dogs have to stay on the main paths, and rangers do patrol there. i've seen them kick people out for letting dogs run loose, so it's enforced. for herbs, look for wild garlic (Bärlauch) in the damp spots near the lake come spring, and yarrow or plantain along the forest edges. just don't pick anything rare, stick to common stuff. another option is the Botanischer Garten in Dahlem, but that's more for looking than picking, and they'll kick you out if they see you snipping.

the rieselfelder tip is solid but honestly for strict dog enforcement ur better off at the tegeler fließ, it's a protected wetland corridor way northwest, they have actual ranger stations and fines for off-leash dogs, i've seen it. for herbs, the dry sandy edges near the lübarser weg entrance have tons of mugwort and yarrow, plus wild thyme if u go late summer. just avoid the boardwalk areas, that's where the dog walkers sneak in. also check the berliner forstamt website, they publish a map of which zones allow foraging and which are strict no-touch, saves u a wasted trip

if ur ok with a bit of a ride, the tempelhofer feld is a no-go for this, but the rieselfelder near buch are slept on. it's an old sewage irrigation area, now a nature reserve, super strict about dogs being leashed or banned in parts, and the soil is rich so you get tons of medicinal stuff like nettle, chamomile, and even some valerian near the wetter zones. just check the bezirksamt pankow website for the exact dog rules, they update them seasonally. also, the dörferblick area in köpenick has a community garden collective that lets you forage in their "wild corner" if you ask, no dogs allowed, and they'll point out what's actually safe vs what'll wreck your liver.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
