Any food places in an around Berlin airport?

Missed flight now staying at airport hotel overnight Need a good feed :( was thinking about heading towards Rudow but not sure as it's quite late I guess Missed flight now staying at airport hotel overnight Need a good feed :( was thinking about heading towards Rudow but not sure as it's quite late I guess

if you're at the airport hotel, rudow's actually fine for a quick bite and closer. there's a turkish place called grillhaus rudow on neuköllner straße that does lahmacun and adana till midnight, solid and cheap. the 171 bus from the airport drops you right there in under ten minutes, beats schlepping all the way to neukölln if you're just tryna eat and crash

honestly the airport food is depressing unless you want overpriced pretzels. for late night your best bet is actually heading to neukölln instead of rudow. there's a späti on karl-marx-straße that does solid döner until like 2am, it's called bäremarkt and they're open late. the u7 runs from the airport to rathaus neukölln in like 20 mins so it's not a hassle even now

both options are decent tbh but if you want something different from döner, head to alt-rudow and try la trattoria. it's an italian place that does solid pasta and pizza till 11, their carbonara is legit and they don't jack up prices for airport people. u7 to rudow then a quick walk, or the 171 bus gets you close too

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
