Hey everyone!

I recently lost a considerable amount of money and the financial strain and bills are starting to pile up!

I don't get paid until the end of the month and I need some money now, I've heard that plasma and blood donations are solid options here in Berlin.

I'm a health young non-smoker!

How can I go about donating this? Where should I go? Who do I contact? Is there some sort of form that I need to fill out? How much money should I expect to receive?

I would appreciate all the help I can get!

If you're near Gesundbrunnen, try the Haema center there. They're usually less crowded than the ones in Mitte or Friedrichshain. You'll need your Anmeldung and a valid ID, and they'll do a quick health screening on your first visit. Payout is around 20 to 25 euros per session, and they often run bonus programs for new donors or multiple visits in a month. Just don't go on an empty stomach or they'll turn you away at the door.

I'd check out Haema on Torstrasse if that's closer to you, they pay about the same as the other spots. First time takes longer since they do a full screening, so budget like two hours. Just know it's taxable income here, so keep a little aside for that.

honestly theres also a CSL Plasma at Ostbahnhof if that's closer to you, same deal around 25€ per session. just a heads up tho the first time you donate they'll test your iron levels and protein, so eat a solid meal before you go or they might turn you away. also if you're really strapped for cash you can do two donations a week but leave at least 2 days between sessions, your body needs time to recover

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
