Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions?

Berlin edition. Berlin edition.

the pfannkuchen at some mitte cafes are a solid scam, 9 euro for what's basically a stale berliner from a bakery that charges 1.50. also anything on the top floor of alexanderplatz tower, you're paying for the view and the food is an afterthought at best. i'd send an enemy to a "concept" restaurant in kreuzberg that only does tasting menus, 80 euro and you leave hungry

Any place in the Nikolaiviertel charging for the "historic atmosphere" while serving defrosted dumplings works, but my real pick is the hotel restaurant scene around Potsdamer Platz. You're looking at 30 euro for a club sandwich that's been sitting under a heat lamp, and the menu is in four languages because nobody local eats there. Send your enemy to the Ritz-Carlton bar for a 22 euro gin and tonic and watch them quietly seethe.

honestly the worst value in this city is any restaurant with a Fernsehturm view surcharge, but for pure spite id go with the overpriced sushi spots on Kantstrasse. 15 euro for two pieces of salmon nigiri that came out of a fridge, and the waiters ignore you on purpose. another good one is the "authentic bavarian" places near Checkpoint Charlie, 25 euro for a Weisswurst that's basically a boiled hot dog. your enemy will pay a fortune and leave confused.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
