If you're in the lower town, Jazzy on Martićeva is a solid bet for midweek drinks. It's a narrow bar with a jukebox and a lot of regulars, plus they often have live jazz or soul on quieter nights. For something later, Katran on the outskirts is a warehouse club that does alternative electronic nights and they're usually open Wednesdays, just check their schedule because it's not every week.

yeah tkalčićeva is the main strip for bars, but for something less obvious check out vinil shop in the lower town, it's a record shop that turns into a bar at night, super chill and not touristy at all. if you want dancing, funk club on varšavska is small and cheap and usually has a good mix of people even on slow weeknights

tuesday/wednesday is actually decent for a quieter vibe. try kavkaz in the upper town, it's a tiny dive bar with cheap drinks and a mixed crowd, no bouncers or cover. if you want more energy later, mojito bar on tkalčićeva gets busy with locals even midweek, just don't expect anything fancy. for clubs, hard place on branimirova has techno nights sometimes those days, check their fb first
