ngl the city center pick is solid but i think the area around zhenjiang south station gets overlooked too much. i stayed at the ibis styles there last fall and the metro gets u to daxi road in like 15 mins flat, so ur not missing the food scene. plus the co-working space in the new development zone has proper aircon which is clutch in summer, way better than fighting for a table at a starbucks
also if ur into vinegar at all, skip the touristy bottles at xijin ferry and hit the small shop on nanmen street instead. they sell the aged stuff direct from the local factory for like 15 yuan and its way more intense than what u get at restaurants. just bring cash cos they dont take cards
