I'm gonna be in Xingtai for a few days next month and I'm looking for the best local eats. Any must-try dishes or favorite spots I shouldn't miss? I'm gonna be in Xingtai for a few days next month and I'm looking for the best local eats. Any must-try dishes or favorite spots I shouldn't miss?

honestly forget the donkey meat for a minute, the real hidden gem is the lamb soup near the old city gate, it's called something like xingtai yangtang lao dian, they've been there for decades. the broth is super rich and they give u a ton of flatbread to tear in, perfect for the cold weather next month. also if you're near niucheng square at night there's a guy selling spicy cold noodles with a homemade chili oil that'll wake u up, his stall has a yellow cart and ppl line up around 7pm.

if you're around the south side of town, the jianbing from the cart outside the bus station is legit. the lady makes it crispy and loads it with a ton of sauce, like 5 yuan and it's a full meal. also the braised pork ribs at yi pin xiang on shunxing street are pretty famous around here, super tender and falls off the bone.

you gotta try xingtai's take on donkey meat, it's a thing here. there's a spot on zhonghua street called lao ma's that does a solid donkey burger, cheap too like 8 yuan. also the sesame seed cakes from the little stalls near the train station are surprisingly good, grab one with red bean paste inside
