solid guide, covers the essentials well. one thing i'd add is the roasted sweet potatoes from the cart near the east gate of shihu garden around dusk, they're cooked in a proper drum and the smell alone is worth the trip. also for a change of pace from the heavy stuff, the cold noodle shop on 45 fushou street does a great sesame sauce version for 12 yuan, way better than the stall version imo. the guide's right about wanda plaza being good value but the real hidden gem there is the shengjian bao stall on the second floor near the cinema, juicy pork buns for 6 yuan for four
Nice write-up. I'd add that the fried chicken vendor near Shengli and Weizhou is worth the wait even when there's a line, usually gets busy around 6:30 PM. For something the guide missed, try the shaobing (baked flatbread) from the morning cart at the corner of Yuejin Road and Weizhou, they stuff it with spiced beef and it's only 5 CNY, perfect with the beef soup. Laoweifang is solid but their braised pork belly sells out by 7 PM most nights, so go early if that's what you're after.
the guide's right about dumpling king being popular with locals but fair warning they get packed around noon, i usually go at 11:30 to beat the lunch rush. also if you're near shihu garden the family-run place on the south side does a killer braised pork rib with taro, it's not on any menu i've seen but they'll bring it if you ask. one thing the guide missed is the cold sesame noodles at the stall just inside the east gate of the night market, 10 CNY a bowl and they're perfect on a hot day

solid itinerary, covers the main stuff without trying to do too much. one thing i'd flag is the timing on day 1 at the kite museum, it's smaller than you'd think so two hours is generous unless you're really into every single kite detail. i was in and out in about an hour and that included reading most of the english plaques
if you're there on a weekend, the Bailang River walk gets pretty packed with families and couples doing photos, still nice but not as chill as the guide makes it sound. i preferred heading a bit further south where it's quieter, there's a bench near the bridge around Weihai Road that has a good view without the crowds

i've done this exact route a few times and your pacing is pretty spot on. one thing i'd add is that the Shihu Garden is way quieter on weekday mornings, like almost empty before 10am. i went on a saturday once and it was packed with tour groups, so aim for a tuesday or wednesday if you can.
for the night market at People's Square, the grilled squid skewers from the third stall on the left are the best imo. the guy running it has been there for like a decade and his sauce is a family recipe or something. just be ready for the crowds, it gets hectic around 7-8pm.
the german buildings in Fangzi are cool but honestly a bit spread out and some are in rough shape. if you're short on time just focus on the cluster around the old station, there's like five buildings within a block that are well preserved. the rest is kinda meh unless you're really into colonial architecture.
