Renqiu neighborhoods for a month stay?
If you're working near the city center, staying around Huayuan Road is pretty practical. There are plenty of small eateries along there, especially noodle shops and jianbing stalls, and taxis are easy to flag down at most hours. Buses on the 1 and 2 lines run along that main strip too, so you won't be stranded. Just avoid the far northern edge past the train station, it's mostly industrial and food options thin out quickly.
Try the area near the west gate of Renqiu No.1 Middle School. It's not fancy but there's a cluster of late-night lamb skewer joints and a bus stop that connects to the main routes.
yeah huayuan road is solid but also check out the area around the bus station for some random street food stalls that pop up at night

the ancient city wall section is worth a quick stop if you're already out that way, but don't make a special trip for it. it's basically a big mound of earth with some stone facing, and you'll be done in ten minutes. i'd rather spend that time walking the west side of people's park around sunset, the light hits the willow trees and the lake just right, and there's a small tea stand near the south gate that sells jasmine tea for 3 rmb a cup.
ngl the theater is underrated for how cheap it is. i caught a kunqu opera there last spring and the acoustics were solid, plus the seats are surprisingly comfortable for 30 rmb. check if they have any local opera troupes performing instead of the modern plays, the traditional stuff tends to have better energy from the older crowd that fills the place up. also if you're out near the oil field museum, theres a little noodle shop on Gongye called Zhang's that does a lamb broth soup with flat noodles for 12 rmb, quieter than Lao Ma Tou and the old guy running it used to work the rigs so he'll tell u stories if it's slow
honestly the oil field museum is worth the 20 rmb but go early in the day, it gets crowded with school groups after 10am. i'd also suggest grabbing a bowl of noodles at Lao Ma Tou before heading to the theater, theyre right on the same street if u take Wenhua north toward Zhongshan.
one thing the guide missed is the morning market on Huayuan Street near the park entrance, runs from like 6 to 9am and u can get fresh sesame cakes for 1 rmb each. way better than the touristy food stalls on Yan'an later at night imo.
