yo good list, covers most of the big spots. if you're hitting the night market, skip the main strip and go one block over to the side alley behind the Zhongshan Road stalls, there's a old couple who run a tiny stall selling sweet potato balls and they're way better than anything on the main drag, 5 yuan for a bag. also for the river cruise, the 40 yuan boats from the east end of Donghu Pier are a solid deal but they don't run as often so you might wait 20 mins, worth it tho.

One thing I'd add is that if you're at Nanshan Park early enough, say before 7 or 8 AM, you'll see groups of locals practicing tai chi and sometimes even playing a lively game of badminton on the open plaza near the main gate. It gives the place a nice community feel before the crowds show up.
Also, for the Pedestrian Street, don't overlook the small stalls selling zongzi, the sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. The ones with pork and salted egg yolk are especially good, and they only run you about 5 CNY each. Much better than the touristy stuff closer to Jiefang Road.
solid list, covers the basics well. for the museum, if youre into pottery def check out the little side room on the second floor, most people miss it but theyve got some really detailed Han dynasty stuff in there thats not in the main hall. also for the Yu River cruise, the daytime one is fine but the evening one is way better imo, you can see the big bridge lit up and it's cooler temperature wise. the 50 cny boats are the basic ones, if you can find the smaller boat operator near the east end of Donghu Pier they charge 40 and the route goes a bit further into the narrow channels.

Good overview. I'd add that for families in Gangnan, the area around the Guigang Zoo actually has a few serviced apartments that are better value than the Holiday Inn Express. I booked a two-bedroom place on Meituan for 320 a night last spring, and it had a full kitchen and washing machine, which was a lifesaver with kids. The zoo itself is small but decent for a morning outing, and there's a good noodle shop called Laowang Mifen just north of the entrance where bowls start at 10 yuan.
nice breakdown of the districts. one thing i'd throw in for budget travelers is that the old town near donghu park is great for food but the hostels there can be hit or miss on cleanliness. i stayed at a place called the donghu guesthouse for 55 a night and the room was fine but the shared bathroom was rough. for a few more yuan the 7 days inn on jiefang road is way more reliable and still close to cheap eats
if you're into morning walks the yu river promenade is beautiful at sunrise, way less crowded than in the evening. i grabbed some steamed buns from a cart near the gangbei bridge for 3 yuan and watched the fishermen, it's a nice quiet start before the city gets busy

I stayed at one called the Lvyuan Hotel last year, about 250 a night, and it was much quieter than the main drag on Jiefang Road while still being a 10-minute walk to the night market.
