I've got the online application open but I'm stuck on the part asking for a local address and phone number, which I don't have yet. Anyone know if I can put a temporary address or if I need to wait until I've got a lease?

Wait for the lease, address gets cross-checked.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image barbli local ·

yeah the fapiao system checks it against ur lease

Landlord's name on the contract matters more.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down
Image annemaria local ·

True, and the name has to match the fangben exactly, character for character, or the window rejects it.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

cross-check happens at the lease stamp date too

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down
Image barbli local ·

Stamped date on the contract, not the move-in date.

Agree, but the online form lets you save a draft for 30 days.

Fair point, though the cross-check only bites once you file the annual reconciliation, not at initial registration.

honestly the phone number field trips up most people. you can use your hotel or serviced apartment number if u have one booked, they mainly need a reachable contact. the tax bureau at Jiuxianqiao usually accepts that for the initial registration.

Chaoyang tax office moved to Shunyi in 2024.

Funland Beijing 2026: what's left of the old park?

arrow_drop_up 31 arrow_drop_down
Image lili local ·

depends what u mean by Funland, the old rides are gone but the east bit near the bus stops is still lively, I'd live there for the links not the park.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image johanna local ·

yeah the east side by the bus stops still has that night market vibe but the west end past Chaoyang Park Rd is dead quiet after 9

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image lili local ·

Agree, 9pm cutoff is real.

Bus 402 to Liangmaqiao still runs till 11.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Line 402 gets packed after 8 on weekdays

Image sibille local ·

true, but the 418 & 659 also stop by the south gate which nobody mentions, way handier for getting to Wangjing

arrow_drop_up 25 arrow_drop_down
Image johanna local ·

good point on the south gate, ppl always sleep on those. fwiw the 659 is teh one i actually use, cuts over toward the airport side without the transfer hassle. gets crowded round rush hour tho.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image annika local ·

Noted on the south gate, though the 418 gets you closer to the Jiuxianqiao side than the 659 does.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

The old coaster site off Jiuxianqiao Lu is now mostly residential towers with a small park, quieter at night than you'd expect.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image lijianh local ·

fair point on the quiet nights. those towers went up around 2019 i think, and they kept a bit of the old concrete footing as a feature near the playground. tbh it feels more like a normal neighborhood now than a park.
