Hopworks brewery in Beijing, still worth a visit in 2026?
Went last summer, tap list had a decent hazy IPA and a solid pilsner, nothing wild. Weeknights are chill, mostly expats and a few locals, no wait at the bar around 8pm. It's on the pricey side for Beijing though, prob 60-80 per pint.
yeah 60-80 sounds about right, though happy hour before 7 knocks a bit off. tbh i'd skip it on a friday, gets packed with the Sanlitun crowd. midweek is def the move
honestly midweek's the only time i bother, weekends you're queuing past 9 just to get near teh bar

imperial i think, the 500ml comes in closer to 70 last i checked

Best grill in Beijing 2026: The Grillery worth it?
The Grillery is sit-down and you'll want to book, especially weekends, they fill up by 7. From Sanlitun it's a quick Didi, maybe 15 min depending on traffic on Gongti Beilu. Budget 300 to 400 per person with a drink or two. Portions are generous so don't over-order the sides.
weekday lunch set is way cheaper, closer to 150, though the grill selection is smaller
Lunch menu ends 2pm sharp, they stop seating at 1:30
yeah and they don't advertise it, but ask for the off-menu prime rib, it's only at lunch and worth the trip alone

Ask the driver to drop you at the north end of the street, the entrance is easy to walk past.
Just don't try walking it, the route past the embassy district is confusing after dark.
