Heard stories about how sprawling it is... anyone got tips on efficiently navigating the airport, especially getting to the airport express train? I'm trying to avoid getting hopelessly lost with my luggage. Last time I was at a huge airport, I spent an hour just looking for my gate. This is my first trip to @China, so any advice would be a lifesaver!

honestly the biggest time sink at Capital isn't the train, it's the shuttle between T3-C and T3-E if you land on a remote gate. that little people mover can eat 15 min easy. give yourself at least 90 min from wheels down to sitting on the express, especially if you land during the morning euro rush around 6 to 8am.

t3 is where most international flights land & the express station is in the basement but heads up the signage can be confusing once u exit baggage claim, follow the train icon not the taxi one. if ur card doesnt work at the gate just grab a ticket from the machine, its like 25 kuai. also load wechat or alipay before u land, way easier than cash for everything else

PEK is huge but the layout is actually pretty logical once you get your bearings. After you clear customs in Terminal 3, just follow the signs for the Airport Express (it's on the lower level, B1). The train drops you at Dongzhimen in about 25 min, where u can transfer to Line 2 or 13. One thing nobody mentions: buy a Yikatong card at the airport before you board, it works on the train and all subways and saves you fumbling with tickets later. Cost is like 25 yuan for the train plus a 20 yuan deposit on teh card.

best steakhouse in Beijing 2026? prime cut worth it

Honestly the dry aged ribeye at Prime Cut is legit, but for an anniversary I'd rather book Fu Lou or cut the wine and stay under 1500 for two.

Charcoal in Sanlitun, quieter room for two.

Second this, ask for the back room.

fair point on the budget, but fu lou is a totally different meal, more cantonese seafood vibes than steak. if its a steak anniversary just do prime cut and bring your own bottle, corkage is like 200 and saves u a fortune

Cutting the wine still lands near 1600 once you add the 10 percent service, so it's a real stretch.

The dry aging at Prime Cut is the real thing, they run a proper aging cabinet and the ribeye has that nutty funk. Budget around 2000 to 2500 for two with a decent bottle. The 28-day is the sweet spot, skip the longer ones.

yeah 28 day is the move, though i'd add the bone-in ribeye over the boneless, way better crust & worth the bump
