My biggest worry? Navigating the sheer scale of the place, getting lost in the labyrinthine corridors seems inevitable. Anyone been through the ER there? Any tips on finding my way around efficiently, or should I just accept my fate and wander until I stumble upon my appointment?

The WeChat mini map is your best bet, but download it before you go because the hospital wifi can be spotty near the ER entrance. If you're coming by subway, get off at Dongdan station exit G and walk north on Shuaifuyuan street, it drops you right at the east gate without crossing any busy roads. I'd also skip the hospital pharmacy if you need anything, the one on Wangfujing street is cheaper and has shorter lines even at peak hours.

pumch's ER is chaos tbh, but the hospital has color-coded zones on each floor - look for the big signs hanging from the ceiling, not the wall ones. if u enter from the east gate on shuaifuyuan street, you'll hit the main lobby directly instead of wandering through the maze of outpatient buildings. save yourself 20 mins and just ask any nurse in teal scrubs, they all know the shortcuts

honestly just accept that you'll get turned around at least once, everyone does. the main building has this weird layout where floors 1-3 are connected but 4 and 5 have different elevator banks depending on which wing you're in. if you're just going for a consultation, enter through the south gate on dongdan beidajie, the international medical services entrance is right there and way less crowded than the main ER chaos. grab a coffee at the 7-11 across the street before you go in, the hospital cafe is overpriced and always runs out of cups

best photo spots in beijing?

heading to beijing in about 5 months and wondering where i should go for good photos. any favorite spots for early morning or sunset shots? heading to beijing in about 5 months and wondering where i should go for good photos. any favorite spots for early morning or sunset shots?

olympic forest park is slept on fr. the linden trees along the main axis go gold in late october and the bird's nest reflection in the lake at sunrise is nuts, barely anyone there on weekdays. also check out 798 art district on a weekday morning, the old factory pipes and graffiti make great contrast shots. tbh bring a wider lens than u think you need, everything in beijing is bigger than it looks in photos

everyone goes for the big landmarks but honestly the best shots i got were from the overpasses on the 3rd ring road at dusk, just traffic light trails with CCTV tower lit up in the background. also guomao at blue hour from the silk street footbridge, the CBD towers all glassy & orange, tripod helps cuz u need a slow shutter. one thing nobody mentions, air quality totally changes your photos so check the AQI app the night before, a clear day after rain is worth waiting for

For sunrise the Temple of Heaven east gate area is underrated, locals doing tai chi around 5:30am with the morning fog, way better than fighting crowds at Tiananmen. For sunset honestly just walk along the canal near Shichahai, the reflections off the water with the Drum Tower behind are hard to beat. Bring a tripod if you can, the good light only lasts like 20 mins this time of year.
