Beijing Capital International Airport's Weirdest Sighting?

Planes everywhere, people everywhere, the air thick with that unique airport smell... you know the one. Anyway, I'm waiting for my luggage, and I swear I saw a guy walking around in a full panda suit... carrying a suitcase also shaped like a panda. It was bizarre. Seriously, a suitcase panda. Did anyone else ever see something equally surreal at Capital Airport?

You think the panda is weird, but I've seen a guy at T3's international arrivals casually walk out with a full-size traffic cone tucked under his arm, like he'd just borrowed it from the road. Security gave him a once-over and let him through, no questions asked. Also, that dan dan mian tip from the other reply is solid, but if you're at T2, the wonton soup stand near the domestic shuttle bus stop is the real sleeper hit, the broth tastes like someone's grandma actually made it.

tbh the panda thing is funny but the real weirdness is always at the baggage claim in T3 around 2am. i once saw a monk in full robes calmly meditating on top of his luggage cart while his suitcase spun around on the carousel for 20 minutes. nobody touched it, nobody said anything, just monks doing monk things. also if you land late and need food, the 24h convenience store near the taxi rank has these instant hotpot bowls that are way better than they should be, grab the beef one not the mushroom.

different airport weirdness, T2 baggage claim has this spot near the carousel where the floor tiles are slightly off color, and every time i fly in i see someone standing there staring at it like it's a portal. once saw a guy kneel down and take a photo of it with a full DSLR, then just nod and walk away. no luggage, no context. also if you're ever killing time at T3 before a domestic flight, the coffee cart near the Hainan Airlines check-in desks does a better latte than the starbucks upstairs, and it's half the price, just ask for the extra shot.

best photo spots in beijing?

heading to beijing in about 5 months and wondering where i should go for good photos. any favorite spots for early morning or sunset shots? heading to beijing in about 5 months and wondering where i should go for good photos. any favorite spots for early morning or sunset shots?

olympic forest park is slept on fr. the linden trees along the main axis go gold in late october and the bird's nest reflection in the lake at sunrise is nuts, barely anyone there on weekdays. also check out 798 art district on a weekday morning, the old factory pipes and graffiti make great contrast shots. tbh bring a wider lens than u think you need, everything in beijing is bigger than it looks in photos

everyone goes for the big landmarks but honestly the best shots i got were from the overpasses on the 3rd ring road at dusk, just traffic light trails with CCTV tower lit up in the background. also guomao at blue hour from the silk street footbridge, the CBD towers all glassy & orange, tripod helps cuz u need a slow shutter. one thing nobody mentions, air quality totally changes your photos so check the AQI app the night before, a clear day after rain is worth waiting for

For sunrise the Temple of Heaven east gate area is underrated, locals doing tai chi around 5:30am with the morning fog, way better than fighting crowds at Tiananmen. For sunset honestly just walk along the canal near Shichahai, the reflections off the water with the Drum Tower behind are hard to beat. Bring a tripod if you can, the good light only lasts like 20 mins this time of year.
