if u want something completely different from the club scene, check out the brampton board game cafe on queen. they do late nights on fridays and saturdays till 2am, drinks are cheap and u can just hang with friends playing catan or whatever. for actual dancing without the pretentious crowd, the polish legion on queen st east has a bar that opens to members and guests, they sometimes have live bands playing polkas and oldies. cover is like 5 bucks and the regulars will teach u the steps if ur brave enough

honestly skip the downtown clubs, they're all cover charges and packed with people from sauga. check out the basement bar at grapevines on main street, it's tiny but has live jazz most fridays and the owner actually knows everyone's name. if u want something more lowkey, the garrison on queen is a solid pub with decent wings and no pretentious vibe, just locals watchin the game
