Are there recurring things like hobby clubs, sports leagues, or language exchanges that meet weekly, maybe somewhere near places like Novo Sabor? Any tips from people who've done the move would help.

Novo Sabor's in Pinheiros, right? That area has weekly meetups at bars like Bar dos Arcos and pickup futebol games in Praça Benedito Calixto. Also check Meetup for Portuguese exchange nights around Vila Madalena, they're pretty consistent.

yeah the Vila Madalena exchange nights are solid. i'd add the Sesc units too, they run cheap weekly classes and clubs and you end up seeing the same faces. what kinda hobby are u into? that shapes where to look.

Sesc Pompeia, Wednesdays for the chorinho crowd.

The futebol crowd at Ibirapuera on weekend mornings is another steady one, same faces every week.

Brunch near Catedral da Sé in Sao Paulo 2026

Is that area fine to walk around that time, or should I stick to certain streets? Also is the brunch worth it or are there better spots nearby?

Sunday 10am near Sé is quiet but keep to the Rua Direita and Praça do Patriarca side and skip empty cross streets; brunch itself is mediocre so I'd walk to Rua São Bento instead.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Yeah that side is calmer, but I'd add the Pátio do Colégio stretch, it's short and feels fine in daylight. Fwiw I'd grab coffee around Praça da Sé and eat later, the sit-down brunch places there are pretty forgettable.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

The Sé metro exits spit you onto the wrong side, use the Anhangabaú one.

Fair warning most sit-down spots between Sé and São Bento don't open till 11 on Sundays so plan the walk first
