The place itself is more of a gift shop than a café, so I wouldn't count on it for a proper cup. Walk toward Rua Fradique Coutinho instead; there are a couple of small coffee spots there pulling decent espresso. Weekday mornings are calmer.

Skip it and walk to Café Florestal on Rua Harmonia, roughly ten minutes away, for properly roasted beans and a quiet backyard.

Good call on the backyard, it's the reason to go. If you're there in the afternoon the pastries are usually gone, so go earlier. Also cash helps, some of these spots get fussy with foreign cards.
