Bar Parnapiacaba worth the trip from São Paulo?

fmd_goodBar Parnapiacaba · #food #paranapiacaba
visiting in march 2026 and staying near centro, is bar parnapiacaba in paranapiacaba village worth the train ride out or is it more of a locals only spot? also do they do food or just drinks visiting in march 2026 and staying near centro, is bar parnapiacaba in paranapiacaba village worth the train ride out or is it more of a locals only spot? also do they do food or just drinks

the train ride itself is the draw, paranapiacaba is a tiny english-built village and the bar does petiscos not full meals so eat before u go

Second this, but book the train back before dark, last one's early.

Worth adding that the train only runs on weekends and holidays, so a March weekday trip won't work at all.

yeah the village bit is the whole point tbh. just dont count on the bar for a real meal, petiscos only & it gets packed on weekends

Fair warning tho, march is rainy season up there so the trail bits around the village get muddy, bring decent shoes.

also the fog rolls in fast up there so pack a light rain jacket even if centro looks clear

Agree, and the funicular to the upper village is the bit most people miss.

Do tourists pay more at bars in Sao Paulo 2026?

cover charge is the thing nobody warns u about, the couvert artistico. if there's live music they add like 15 to 30 reais per person to the bill, sometimes printed tiny at the bottom of the menu. tourists get surprised by that more than by any price difference. ask if couvert is included before u sit down, that's the real local move

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

not sure about that specific bar but id check the menu prices before ordering tbh

yeah checking teh menu first is smart, but honestly at Parnapiacaba its whatever the printed price says, no tourist rate.
