yeah pretty sure it shut down mid 2024, the space on Rua Aspicuelta sat empty for a while. last I heard something new moved in there, so check recent Google listings before u go.

Word was the chef moved to a spot in Pinheiros after the closure, so worth checking his name instead of the old address.

Fair warning his newer place is tiny, like 20 seats, so book weeks ahead or you're eating at the bar.

I'm visiting Sao Paulo next month and staying a few blocks from Novo Sabor, so I'm curious what people order there and whether the lunch rush is as bad as I've read. only been once while visiting, but the lunch rush is real, think 12-1:30 is when it swells. go at 11:30 or after 2 & its calm. the prato do dia is the move at lunch, dinner is a quieter sit-down thing but the daytime plate is what people come for. if the line looks long its usually faster than it looks

good call on the 11:30 window, and fwiw the prato do dia changes daily so ask what's on before u commit to a table.
