Working from Sao Paulo 2026: internet and coworking?

How reliable is the internet in apartments and cafes, and are there coworking spots or quiet places near the Catedral da Sé where I could set up for a morning? Also curious how long most remote workers tend to stay, since I'm weighing a month against something longer.

Internet in apartments is usually fine but cafe wifi near Sé is patchy, and coworking is scarce there, so look toward República or Liberdade instead.

yeah, and if u want quiet for calls, Pinheiros has way more coworking options than the center anyway.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

the sé area is mostly banks and shops so it empties out after 6, which is actually nice for calls

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Good shout on avoiding Sé, but honestly the coworking in Liberdade is mostly tiny spots that fill up fast.

Santa Ifigênia, two blocks north, quieter.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Stay near Avenida Paulista instead, the MASP area has 24h coworking and fiber is standard in most buildings there.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Fiber is genuinely standard in Consolação too, but check the building's upload speed before booking since European calls need it more than download.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

also worth asking if the building has backup or a generator, since power cuts kill the router more often than the connection itself

Which streets around there are ok to walk after midnight and which should I avoid? Coming from out of town so no clue how late Augusta stays sketchy.

I've stayed around Consolacao a few times. Augusta is fine up to roughly Rua Matias Aires, then it gets patchier toward the Praça Roosevelt end after midnight. Bar Csa itself sits in a busy stretch so you'll be around people. Walk back via Rua da Consolacao rather than cutting through the side streets, and skip Rua Rego Freitas late.
