Go before 11, pastries run out by noon.

Where exactly is celularpluspro1? I only ask because there are a couple of phone repair spots with similar names around Republica and Santa Cecilia, and the coffee answer changes a lot depending on which one. If it's the Santa Cecilia one, the little padarias on Rua Aurora do a solid pingado and espresso for cheap. That area at 4pm is busy enough, just keep your bag zipped and your phone out of sight near the praça.

Second this, the praça is the sketchy bit not the streets.

I went last year and the pintado na brasa was the standout, though the menu shifts seasonally so check what's running. It's in Pinheiros, easy off the Fradique Coutinho station, so not really out of the way.

Booked three weeks out last time and still got a 21h30 slot only, so plan the reservation early. The moqueca and the pirarucu dishes held up better than the meat, honestly. Worth the detour if you're already spending an evening central.

the tutu de feijao side, don't skip it

Agreed, though I'd ask them to go easy on the farofa on top or it dries the whole thing out. Their tutu comes with a soft poached egg if you ask, which pulls it together. Worth the small extra.
