Any spots you'd actually recommend nearby, and what's a normal price for a flat white around there?

If that's the shop on Rua Augusta, try the coffee counter at Livraria da Vila a few blocks up, expect around R$14 to R$18 for a flat white.

yeah that price range sounds right for the area. tbh I'd also check the little spots on the side streets off Paulista, quieter for laptops and usually a bit cheaper. havent been myself recently tho so double check theyre still open

Coffee Lab on Rua Fradique Coutinho is worth the walk, and their flat white runs closer to R$16 with way better beans.

Augusta gets mobbed by mid-morning so grab your table before 9. The padaria counters nearby do a solid pingado for like R$6 if you just want quick caffeine.

Livraria's counter closes early on Sundays, so have a backup like the padoca on Marquês de Paranaguá.

The counter inside is small so seats go fast after 10, go early if u need a table for the laptop. Also cash or pix is smoother there, card machines act up sometimes.

I went last year and the pintado na brasa was the standout, though the menu shifts seasonally so check what's running. It's in Pinheiros, easy off the Fradique Coutinho station, so not really out of the way.

Booked three weeks out last time and still got a 21h30 slot only, so plan the reservation early. The moqueca and the pirarucu dishes held up better than the meat, honestly. Worth the detour if you're already spending an evening central.

the tutu de feijao side, don't skip it

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Agreed, though I'd ask them to go easy on the farofa on top or it dries the whole thing out. Their tutu comes with a soft poached egg if you ask, which pulls it together. Worth the small extra.

no clue tbh, just book ahead if u go
