I'm in Sao Paulo for a week in March 2026 and staying close to celularpluspro1. Any decent cafes within walking distance for a proper espresso and somewhere to sit with a laptop? Not fussed about fanc… I'm in Sao Paulo for a week in March 2026 and staying close to celularpluspro1. I'd try Isso é Café on Rua Aspicuelta in Vila Madalena, quiet upstairs and the wifi actually works. Note many places there close Sundays, and a pingado plus pão na chapa runs about R$12.

Second this, but go before 10am for a seat.

the one on Girassol's quieter after 2pm

upstairs fills by 11 on saturdays

Santo Grão on Oscar Freire, opens 8am.

Coffee Lab on Fradique Coutinho, wifi holds up.

Agree, though the back room gets loud after noon.

They also have a Jardins branch on Haddock Lobo if that's closer to you, similar hours and solid wifi.

Just mind the lunch rush, it fills up fast.

Pão de queijo there's solid too, get one warm.

I went last year and the pintado na brasa was the standout, though the menu shifts seasonally so check what's running. It's in Pinheiros, easy off the Fradique Coutinho station, so not really out of the way.

Booked three weeks out last time and still got a 21h30 slot only, so plan the reservation early. The moqueca and the pirarucu dishes held up better than the meat, honestly. Worth the detour if you're already spending an evening central.

the tutu de feijao side, don't skip it

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Agreed, though I'd ask them to go easy on the farofa on top or it dries the whole thing out. Their tutu comes with a soft poached egg if you ask, which pulls it together. Worth the small extra.
