Honestly I'd wander up Rua Augusta toward Baixo Augusta, lots of small botecos with good caipirinhas and a mixed crowd. Walking back after midnight is doable on the busy stretch but uber is cheap, id do that teh first night.

Agree on Augusta, but the Consolacao side near Peca da Republica gets sketchy late, so walk with a group or grab a 99.

I went last year and the pintado na brasa was the standout, though the menu shifts seasonally so check what's running. It's in Pinheiros, easy off the Fradique Coutinho station, so not really out of the way.

Booked three weeks out last time and still got a 21h30 slot only, so plan the reservation early. The moqueca and the pirarucu dishes held up better than the meat, honestly. Worth the detour if you're already spending an evening central.

the tutu de feijao side, don't skip it

Agreed, though I'd ask them to go easy on the farofa on top or it dries the whole thing out. Their tutu comes with a soft poached egg if you ask, which pulls it together. Worth the small extra.
