Is ifoof in Sao Paulo worth it for lunch in 2026?

I'm in Sao Paulo for a few days and ifoof keeps popping up on my feed. Is it worth the trip for lunch or should I hit it at dinner instead? Also how early do I need to go to avoid a wait? went last year when visiting, lunch is fine but the room is dead quiet at noon. dinner has more energy. i'd honestly skip the queue stress and go right at 12h when they open, wait was maybe 10 min. by 13h it was packed. the fish is the move over the meat imo.

That 12h window matches what I've heard, though I'd add the fish dishes are the reason to go at all.

the fish thing is real, the pintado especially

Dinner service is a different kitchen pace too, the pintado comes out better when they aren't rushing the lunch turnaround.

Book ahead if you can, walk-ins get squeezed. The tasting menu is the real draw, lunch portions felt smaller.

yeah booking makes sense, we walked in around 12h and got lucky but by 13h it was full. fwiw the lunch menu isnt teh full tasting anyway, so if thats what u want just do dinner.

Agree on booking, but portions looked the same to me at lunch, its teh menu that shrinks not the plates.

Best way to become a regular at Sao Paulo restaurants 2026

Is there a good way to meet people through recurring things like a weekly cooking class, a running club that ends at a bar, or a neighborhood spot where you just show up often enough? I keep hearing about places like ifoof but I'm more interested in how people build a social circle there over months.
