brunch da catedral da se 2026, is it a real thing?

fmd_goodBrunch da Catedral da Sé · #cathedral #brunch
someone told me there's a brunch thing at the cathedral da se in 2026 & i can't tell if that's legit or a tourist trap. i'm visiting from abroad next month, is it actually worth going or should i skip… someone told me there's a brunch thing at the cathedral da se in 2026 & i can't tell if that's legit or a tourist trap. i'm visiting from abroad next month, is it actually worth going or should i skip it

2026 is way too far out for any venue in SP to confirm a recurring event, so treat it as unbooked. If you want a real Sunday morning near Sé, the free cathedral visits plus the feira on Praça da República are a better bet. Skip anything asking for prepayment.

Also check the crypt, closes early afternoon.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah agreed, and if u do go early the cathedral itself opens around 8 so you can beat the crowds before the feira gets busy

I visited last year and never saw anything about brunch at the Catedral da Sé, so it's prob a misheard rumor or a tour package name.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Sounds like a tour package name, not an actual event

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

fair, though the Archdiocese does rent the crypt space for private events so a tour group could've labeled it brunch

arrow_drop_up 23 arrow_drop_down

true, crypt events are usually booked through the parish office not a public calendar, so a tour reseller could slap any name on it. if someone's charging you upfront for "brunch" there id ask which tour operator and get it in writing.

probably a tour package reselling the crypt

How to meet people in Sao Paulo as a newcomer in 2026

I'm moving to Sao Paulo in a few months and I'm trying to figure out how people actually build a social circle there, not just hit one event and go home. Are there recurring things like regular pickup… I'm moving to Sao Paulo in a few months and I'm trying to figure out how people actually build a social circle there, not just hit one event and go home. Are there recurring things like regular pickup games, language exchanges, or cooking classes that are easy to join as an outsider? I keep hearing about places around Vila Madalena but I'd rather find something weekly than a one-time meetup.

sunday futebol at Ibirapuera, ~9am

Gate 10 near the lake, bring a white shirt.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

yeah white shirt is key or you'll stick out, also check the futebol groups on whatsapp before u show up

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Altinho near the tennis courts, same crowd after.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Good to know it's a regular thing, do people usually sort teams there or is it pick-up style?
