That said, Uber is cheap here compared to bigger cities, usually around 15 to 25 reais for most trips across town, so I'd mix both depending on where you're headed and how much time you have. Just avoid buses during peak hours, 7-9am and 5-7pm, they get packed.

If you're staying in the central area around the city center or América, walking is actually pretty doable for a lot of things. The grid layout makes it easy to navigate, and you'll find most restaurants and shops within a 15-20 minute walk. For getting to the more spread out spots like the Expoville convention center or the shopping malls on the north side, Uber is your best bet since those places are on the outskirts and the bus connections get longer. I'd say download the Cittamobi app to check bus schedules just in case, but plan on spending about 50 to 80 reais a day on rides if you're moving around a lot.

honestly just uber it most of the time, buses are fine if you know where ur going but the routes can be confusing for a first timer. uber is like 10-20 reais anywhere in the city anyway
