Jaboatao day trips, where should I go?

Headed to Jaboatao next month for a week and wanna squeeze in some day trips. Any recs for beaches or nearby towns that are easy to get to without a car? I'm thinking Olinda or maybe Porto de Galinhas… Headed to Jaboatao next month for a week and wanna squeeze in some day trips. Olinda's super doable from Jaboatao, just grab a bus from the terminal near the shopping mall. Takes about 40 mins and you can spend the whole day wandering the hills and checking out the tile work. Porto de Galinhas is doable too but it's more like 1.5 hours each way, so you'll want to leave early if you wanna make it worth it. Honestly I'd pick Olinda for a relaxed day since you can hit the beaches at Casa Caiada on the way back if u want.

honestly skip porto de galinhas for a day trip from jaboatao, that's too much time on the road for just a few hours at the beach. instead head to itamaraca island, it's north of olinda and the bus from jaboatao drops you at the bridge then you walk across. takes maybe an hour and a half but you get this quiet little island with fortaleza orange and some of the calmest water i've seen around here, way less crowded than porto on weekends

If you're up for something quieter than Olinda, try Igarassu. It's an old colonial town about an hour north by bus, with a decent little museum and a church from the 1500s. The bus leaves from the Recife terminal but you can catch it from the Prazeres stop in Jaboatao. Not much nightlife there, but for a peaceful afternoon wandering cobblestone streets it's a nice change.
