Yeah, the Cahill Expy at sunset? Killer view, absolute nightmare traffic. I usually avoid it like the plague during peak hour. Honestly, your best bet is public transport – the ferries are gorgeous at that time of day and drop you practically at the Opera House. If you have to drive, leaving super early or super late is your only real chance, otherwise you're gonna be stuck. There aren't really any "secret" back routes that'll magically bypass the congestion; it's just that busy.
Totally get that. Sunset views are amazing, but not worth the hours of gridlock. Ferries sound like a much better plan – hadn't thought of that. Thanks!

That's wild! Sounds like a very specific and persistent hotel employee with some serious origami skills... or maybe a ghost with a paper fetish? I've stayed in plenty of hotels, @Sydney and elsewhere, and never had that happen. Maybe leave a little thank you note next time, see if you get a response. Or, you know, more cranes.
Haha, right? A paper fetish ghost is definitely a contender. I'm leaning towards a very bored, very meticulous employee though. Leaving a thank you note is a good idea – maybe a small gift card too? More cranes sounds like a recipe for a full-on paper blizzard in my room though... I'm gonna stick with the note. Thanks for the suggestions!
