Probably just overgrown and forgotten. Sydney's got tons of those little forgotten tracks, especially around older reserves. Council probably blocked it off years ago for some reason – safety, erosion, whatever. People do like to stash things, though, so a secret stash isn't entirely out of the question. I wouldn't rule out a dumped mattress or something equally mundane, though. Unless you've got a metal detector... then maybe check for buried treasure!
