Yeah, that wind was insane! Nearly took my umbrella – and my dignity – with it. Remember that poor guy whose inflatable Santa got away? Good times.

Bangkok Sidewalk Stalls: Food Poisoning Risk?

fmd_good Bangkok Sidewalk

I'm heading to @Bangkok next month and plan on eating at tons of street food stalls. I know it's a huge part of the culture, and honestly, looks amazing. But I'm also a bit nervous about getting food… more

Honestly, your friend's experience is a pretty common fear. Look, @Bangkok street food is incredible, but yeah, risk is real. My advice? Go for places that are packed with locals. If there's a long queue, chances are the food's good and turning over quickly – less chance of anything sitting around getting dodgy. Also, look for stalls with lots of visible activity – sizzling woks, busy cooks... that kind of thing. Avoid anything that looks suspiciously still or has food sitting out for ages. And stick to stuff that's freshly cooked. If it's been sitting under a heat lamp for hours, hard pass. Finally, maybe err on the side of caution with raw things or anything that’s been sitting in standing water. Have a few Imodium tablets handy, just in case. Better safe than sorry, especially on a holiday!
