**🍸 Where to Start** Begin your night in the Golden Triangle, home to Changkat Bukit Bintang, a strip of bars and clubs like Pisco Bar and The Rabbit Hole. For a more upscale vibe, head to TREC KL, which houses clubs such as Zouk and The Iron Fairies. Most venues open around 5 PM and stay busy until 3 AM. **🎵 Live Music Venues** Catch live bands at No Black Tie in Jalan Mesui, a cozy spot for jazz and acoustic sets, open until 1 AM. Alexis Bistro in Ampang offers nightly performances with a mix of genres, and its kitchen serves food until late. Check their schedules online for cover charges, which range from 20 to 50 ringgit. **🏙️ Hidden Neighborhood Gems** Explore the hipster enclave of SS15 in Subang Jaya, where bars like The Bee and Jibby & Co. draw a young crowd with craft beers and live DJs. In Bangsar, visit The Social or Omakase + Appreciate for a more relaxed evening. These areas are less touristy and often have no cover charge. **💵 Dress Codes and Costs** Most upscale clubs enforce a smart-casual dress code: no shorts, slippers, or singlets. Cover charges range from 30 to 100 ringgit, often including one drink. Ladies' nights on Wednesdays or Thursdays offer free entry and drink specials at places like Zouk and Havana KL. **🚇 Getting Around Safely** Use ride-hailing apps like Grab or AirAsia Ride for late-night travel, as taxis can be unreliable. The KL Monorail runs until midnight, but buses stop earlier. If you're bar-hopping in Bukit Bintang, walking between venues is safe and common, but stay on main streets. **⏰ Closing Times and Last Call** Bars typically close at 1 AM on weekdays and 2 AM on weekends, while clubs like Zouk and The Iron Fairies stay open until 3 AM. Last call for alcohol is usually 30 minutes before closing. Some speakeasies, like PS150 in Petaling Street, operate until 2 AM but have a strict capacity limit. **🍻 Budget-Friendly Options** For cheap drinks, visit the Hawker Centre at Jalan Alor, where beer is sold alongside street food until late. Reggae Bars like Mansion in Chow Kit offer affordable jugs of beer and a lively atmosphere. Expect to pay around 15 ringgit for a pint of local beer at these spots.
