**🏛️ Start at the Royal Town** Klang is the royal capital of Selangor, so begin at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Royal Gallery (Bangunan Sultan Sulaiman, Jalan Istana). This grand 1909 building houses royal regalia and local history, open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with free entry. It's a perfect introduction to the city's heritage and architectural charm. **🍜 Eat Like a Local** Klang is famous for its bak kut teh, a herbal pork rib soup, and the best spots are along Jalan Stesen and Jalan Besar. Try Ah Hee Bak Kut Teh (No. 24, Jalan Stesen) or Teo Chew Bak Kut Teh (No. 23, Jalan Stesen), both open from early morning until around 2:00 PM. For a modern twist, visit the new Klang Food Street at night, where stalls serve everything from grilled seafood to cendol. **🛍️ Shop for Antiques** The old part of Klang, especially around Jalan Raya Timur and Jalan Tengku Kelana, is dotted with antique shops selling Peranakan tiles, vintage furniture, and old coins. One standout is Kedai Antik Klang (No. 12, Jalan Raya Timur), open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Bargaining is expected, so bring cash and a friendly attitude. **🌳 Explore the Waterfront** Klang's riverfront has been revitalized, and the new Klang River Walk along Jalan Besar offers a pleasant stroll with food trucks and art installations. For a greener escape, head to Taman Bandar Klang (Jalan Taman Bandar), a large park with jogging trails and a lake, open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It's a favorite spot for locals to picnic on weekends. **🕌 Visit Historic Mosques** The Sultan Suleiman Mosque (Jalan Kota, off Jalan Stesen) is a stunning 1932 Moorish-style structure that's still active; visitors are welcome outside prayer times, but dress modestly. Another gem is the Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Aziz (Jalan Dato' Hamzah), built in 1910, with its distinctive black-and-white minaret. Both are free to enter, and you can often join guided tours if you ask nicely. **🚂 Ride the KTM Train** Klang is well-connected by the KTM Komuter line, and the Klang station (Jalan Stesen) is a heritage building itself. Take the train to Kuala Lumpur for a day trip, or hop off at nearby stations like Bukit Badak to explore the old railway quarters. Trains run every 15 to 30 minutes from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM, and a one-way ticket to KL Sentral costs about RM 4.50. **🎭 Catch a Cultural Show** The Klang Performing Arts Centre (KPAC, No. 1, Jalan Meru) hosts regular theater performances, music concerts, and dance recitals, often featuring local Malay and Chinese traditions. Check their Facebook page for upcoming shows, as tickets range from RM 30 to RM 80. It's a great way to experience the city's creative side beyond the usual tourist spots. **🌅 End at the Sunset** As the day winds down, head to the Klang North Port area, specifically the Pantai Bagan Lalang (about 30 minutes by car), for a wide, quiet beach perfect for watching the sunset. Alternatively, stay in town and climb the Bukit Kuda hill (Jalan Bukit Kuda) for a panoramic view of the city and the Strait of Malacca. Both are free and best visited around 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
