**🍽️ Where to Start** Begin your culinary tour in the historic center, where many iconic restaurants cluster around Plaza de Armas. Try La Casona, at Calle Libertad 1301, for traditional Mexican dishes in a restored mansion, with mains from 150 to 300 pesos. For a quick bite, head to the Mercado de Abastos, open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., where you can sample local cheeses and dried meats. **🌮 Street Food Stops** For authentic street tacos, visit the stands along Avenida Juárez near the Cathedral, especially in the evening. Try the 'tacos al pastor' at Tacos El Pastorcito, which cost about 20 pesos each and are served with fresh pineapple. Another favorite is the 'gorditas' from Gorditas Doña Tota, located at Calle Ojinaga 408, where a stuffed gordita runs 35 pesos. **🥩 Signature Dishes** Chihuahua is famous for its beef, so don't miss the 'carne asada' at El Rincón de la Abuela, on Avenida Universidad 2101. This dish, served with grilled onions and tortillas, costs around 250 pesos per plate. Also try 'machaca', a dried beef specialty, at Café del Centro, where a breakfast plate with eggs and machaca is 120 pesos. **🍺 Craft Beer and Bars** Chihuahua's craft beer scene is growing, with breweries like Cervecería Artesanal Chihuahua, at Calle Victoria 900, offering tasting flights for 150 pesos. For a lively bar experience, head to Plaza del Ángel, where you'll find several spots with live music and local brews. Most bars open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., and a pint of local beer costs about 60 pesos. **🍰 Sweet Treats** Satisfy your sweet tooth with 'capirotada', a bread pudding made with cheese and piloncillo, often served during Lent. Try it at La Panadería, a bakery on Calle Aldama 512, where a slice costs 40 pesos. For something lighter, visit Helados La Michoacana, with locations throughout the city, for a scoop of local fruit ice cream for 30 pesos. **🚌 Getting Around for Food** To explore the city's food scene, use the BRT system called 'ViveBús', which runs along Avenida Juárez and connects major food districts. A single ride costs 10 pesos, and buses run from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more flexibility, consider using a taxi or ride-hailing app like Uber, which is widely available and costs about 50 pesos for a short trip. **💰 Budget Tips** Eating well in Chihuahua is affordable, with street food meals averaging 50 to 100 pesos. For a sit-down dinner at a mid-range restaurant, expect to pay 200 to 400 pesos per person. To save money, look for 'comida corrida' lunch specials, which offer a multi-course meal for around 100 pesos, available at many small eateries from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. **🌆 Evening Food Spots** As night falls, head to the Zona Centro, where food carts line the streets offering 'tortas' and 'tacos de canasta'. For a more upscale evening, dine at La Terraza, on the rooftop of the Hotel Mirador, with views of the city and a menu of regional cuisine, with mains from 300 pesos. Reservations are recommended on weekends, and the restaurant is open until 11 p.m.
