**🏛️ Start Downtown** Kick off your visit at Canalside, the revitalized waterfront district at 44 Prime Street, where you can rent a kayak, catch a summer concert, or skate on the outdoor rink in winter. From there, walk over to the Buffalo Naval & Military Park (1 Naval Park Cove) to tour the USS Little Rock and other decommissioned vessels. Both spots are free to wander, with paid tours and activities running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. **🎨 Museum Must-Sees** The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, now the Buffalo AKG Art Museum at 1285 Elmwood Avenue, reopens its expanded campus with a stunning collection of modern and contemporary works, including pieces by Picasso and Warhol. Admission is $20 for adults, and it's open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For a more intimate experience, visit the Burchfield Penney Art Center next door, which showcases regional artists and costs just $10. **🏭 Industrial Heritage** Explore Buffalo's industrial past at the Buffalo History Museum (1 Museum Court), housed in a beautiful 1901 building in Delaware Park, with exhibits on the Erie Canal and the city's rise as a grain hub. For a deeper dive, take a guided tour of the Richardson Olmsted Campus (444 Forest Avenue), a former asylum designed by H.H. Richardson, now a hotel and event space. Tours run on weekends at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., costing $15 per person. **🌳 Parks and Outdoors** Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Delaware Park (84 Parkside Avenue) is the city's green heart, perfect for a stroll around Hoyt Lake or a picnic on the lawns. Rent a bike from Buffalo Bike Tours at the park entrance and ride the 6-mile loop that connects to the Buffalo River. For a wilder escape, head to Tifft Nature Preserve (1200 Fuhrmann Boulevard), a 264-acre urban wetland with free trails and boardwalks, open daily from dawn to dusk. **🍗 Foodie Favorites** You can't leave Buffalo without trying chicken wings, and Anchor Bar (1047 Main Street) is the birthplace, serving them since 1964 with a side of history. For a modern twist, visit Duff's (3651 Sheridan Drive) in nearby Amherst, where the wings are crispier and the sauce packs more heat. Both spots are open for lunch and dinner, with wings averaging $12 to $15 per dozen. **🎭 Evening Entertainment** Catch a show at Shea's Performing Arts Center (646 Main Street), a beautifully restored 1926 theater hosting Broadway tours and concerts, with tickets starting around $40. For a more laid-back evening, head to the West Side Bazaar (25 Grant Street), a food hall with global vendors and live music on weekends, open until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. If you're into craft beer, stop by Resurgence Brewing Company (1250 Niagara Street) for a flight of local brews in their taproom. **🚌 Getting Around** The Metro Rail, a light rail system, runs free along Main Street from Canalside to the Theater District, making downtown easy to navigate without a car. For neighborhoods like Elmwood Village or Allentown, use the NFTA bus system (single fare $2) or rideshare services. If you drive, street parking is metered until 6 p.m., and lots typically charge $5 to $10 for the day. **💡 Local Tips** Plan your visit around a home game at Highmark Stadium (1 Bills Drive) if you're a football fan, but book tickets well in advance as they sell out quickly. For a unique souvenir, browse the shops at Elmwood Village, especially around Bidwell Parkway, where you'll find local art and vintage goods. And don't miss the city's famous sponge candy, available at Fowler's Chocolates (1105 Elmwood Avenue), a sweet treat since 1901.
