**🍚 Rice Dishes You Must Try** Icheon is famous for its high-quality rice, so start with a bowl of dolsot bibimbap at Icheon Rice Culture Center's restaurant. A set meal costs around 12,000 won and includes side dishes that showcase local produce. For a modern twist, head to Ssal Table near Icheon Station, where they serve creative rice bowls for 10,000 to 15,000 won. **🥟 Best Mandu and Dumplings** Wang Mandu House on Jungang-ro is a local institution serving oversized pork and kimchi mandu for 8,000 won per plate. Their dumplings are pan-fried to crispy perfection and come with a tangy soy dipping sauce. Arrive before noon to avoid the lunch rush, as seating is limited. **🍜 Noodle Spots for a Quick Bite** For a hearty bowl of kalguksu (hand-cut noodles), visit Icheon Myeonok near the bus terminal. Their chicken broth is simmered for hours, and a bowl costs 7,000 won. If you prefer cold noodles, try Mul Naengmyeon at Bukchon Naengmyeon in the city center, priced at 9,000 won with a side of vinegar mustard sauce. **🥩 Korean BBQ at Its Finest** Samgyeopsal lovers should go to Icheon Galbi Jip on Saejae-ro, where pork belly is grilled over charcoal and served with fresh ssam vegetables. A portion for two costs around 30,000 won. For beef, Hanwoo Village in the Seobu-dong district offers premium Korean beef sets starting at 50,000 won per person. **🍰 Sweet Treats and Desserts** Don't miss the rice-based desserts at Icheon Rice Bakery near the central market. Their injeolmi cake (rice cake layered with red bean and cream) is 6,000 won per slice. For a traditional twist, try hotteok filled with brown sugar and nuts from a street stall in the night market for just 2,000 won. **🥤 Local Drinks to Refresh** Sikhye (sweet rice punch) is a must-try, and the best version is at Icheon Traditional Sikhye House on Dongbu-daero. A large cup costs 3,000 won and is served cold with floating rice grains. For something stronger, sample makgeolli at a local brewery like Icheon Takju, where a bottle is 5,000 won. **🏪 Street Food Hotspots** The Icheon Night Market near the city hall comes alive after 6 PM with stalls selling tteokbokki, fish cakes, and fried chicken skewers. Most items range from 3,000 to 5,000 won. For a unique local snack, try the rice chip (nurungji) topped with honey and cinnamon from a cart near the main gate. **🗺️ Navigating Food Districts** The area around Icheon Station has a concentration of restaurants, especially on Jungang-ro and the parallel alleys. Most places are open from 11 AM to 9 PM, but some close on Sundays. Use the Icheon city bus system (routes 1-1, 2-2, 3-1) to reach the Seobu-dong BBQ district or the rice-themed restaurants near the Culture Center.
