**🍜 Start with Jjajangmyeon** Bucheon is famous for its jjajangmyeon, the black bean noodle dish that originated in the city's Chinatown. Head to Gonghwaok (공화옥) at 12 Jomaru-ro 12beon-gil, open daily from 10:30 AM to 9 PM, where a bowl costs about 7,000 won. For a modern twist, try the seafood jjajang at Hwanggeum Jjajang (황금짜장) near Bucheon Station, priced at 9,000 won. **🥟 Street Food at Bucheon Jungang Market** Bucheon Jungang Market (부천중앙시장) is the go-to spot for street food, especially in the evening. Sample the crispy fried mandu (dumplings) from the stall at the main entrance, which cost 3,000 won for five pieces. Don't miss the tteokbokki from Grandma's Rice Cake (할매떡볶이), a spicy rice cake dish for 4,000 won that locals swear by. **🍖 Korean BBQ in Sang-dong** Sang-dong is the city's barbecue district, where you'll find dozens of meat restaurants lining the main street. Visit Samgyeopsal Jeongseon (삼겹살정선) at 45 Sangil-ro, where a set of thick pork belly costs 15,000 won per person. The staff grills the meat for you, and the side dishes, including grilled garlic and ssam vegetables, are refillable at no extra charge. **🍲 Soulful Soups at Simgok-dong** For a warming bowl of soup, head to Simgok-dong, known for its traditional Korean eateries. The seolleongtang (ox bone soup) at Hanmi Seolleongtang (한미설렁탕), located at 8 Simgok-ro 15beon-gil, is a local favorite, served with fresh green onions and salt for 10,000 won. Another option is the spicy cod roe stew at Myeongtae Jjigae House (명태찌개집), priced at 12,000 won, open from 11 AM to 8 PM. **🍰 Cafes and Desserts** Bucheon's cafe scene has exploded recently, with many stylish spots near Bucheon University. For a unique dessert, try the honey butter bread at Cafe Bom (카페 봄) at 12 Jungang-ro 123beon-gil, which costs 8,500 won. If you prefer traditional sweets, visit Ssukdang (쑥당) in Wonmi-gu, where you can enjoy homemade rice cakes and yuja tea for under 10,000 won. **🍺 Nightlife and Anju** When the sun sets, the area around Bucheon City Hall comes alive with bars and pojangmacha (tent restaurants). Try the fried chicken and beer combo at Chimaek Alley (치맥골목) on Boksagol-ro, where a whole chicken costs 18,000 won. For a more traditional experience, order some pajeon (green onion pancake) at Makgeolli House (막걸리집) at 3 Simgok-ro, which pairs perfectly with a pitcher of makgeolli for 8,000 won. **🛒 Food Shopping at Homeplus** If you want to cook or bring home snacks, visit Homeplus Bucheon (홈플러스 부천점) at 45 Sosa-ro, open from 10 AM to 11 PM. The store has a large Korean snack section where you can find local favorites like honey butter chips and dried seaweed for 5,000 to 10,000 won. There's also a food court on the second floor with quick eats like gimbap and ramen for under 6,000 won. **🚇 Getting Around for Food** Bucheon's subway system, served by Line 1 and Line 7, makes it easy to hop between food districts. Take Line 1 to Bucheon Station for the market and jjajangmyeon spots, or Line 7 to Sang-dong for barbecue. Buses are also frequent, but the subway is often faster during rush hour, with fares starting at 1,400 won using a T-money card.
