**🍜 Iconic Dishes** Klang is famous for its bak kut teh, a herbal pork rib soup that draws food lovers from all over Malaysia. The dish is so beloved that the town is often called the birthplace of bak kut teh. For the best experience, head to the original Teo Chew-style stalls in the old town, where the broth is lighter and more peppery. **🥢 Top Bak Kut Teh Spots** Restoran Bak Kut Teh Klang, at 22 Jalan Besar, is a legendary spot that has been serving since the 1970s. A bowl of bak kut teh with rice and tea costs around RM 15 to RM 20 per person. Another favorite is Ah Hei Bak Kut Teh, located at 16 Jalan Stesen 1, known for its rich, intense broth and tender pork. **🍤 Seafood Delights** For fresh seafood, visit the Teluk Pulai area, where you'll find restaurants like Restoran Chuan Kee, at 1 Jalan Teluk Pulai, serving salted egg crab and butter prawns. Prices vary, but a shared seafood feast typically costs RM 30 to RM 50 per person. The best time to go is in the evening, when the catch is freshest. **🥥 Street Food Stalls** The night market at Jalan Taiping, open every Saturday from 5 PM to 10 PM, is a treasure trove of street food. Try the char kway teow, a smoky stir-fried noodle dish, for about RM 8, and the cendol, a shaved ice dessert with coconut milk and palm sugar, for RM 3. Arrive early to avoid the crowds and get the best selections. **🍚 Local Favorites** Don't miss the Hokkien mee, a thick noodle dish stir-fried in dark soy sauce, at Restoran Kok Kee, at 12 Jalan Bunga Melor. The portion is generous and costs around RM 10. For a quick snack, grab a curry puff from the famous stall in front of the Klang KTM station, which sells for RM 2 each. **🍰 Sweet Treats** For dessert, visit Kedai Kopi Kim Wah, at 1 Jalan Stesen, known for its traditional Hainanese coffee and kaya toast, a breakfast favorite that costs RM 5. Another must-try is the apam balik, a crispy pancake filled with peanuts and corn, available at the morning market in Kampung Jawa for RM 1.50. **💰 Budget Tips** Most meals in Klang are very affordable, with street food costing between RM 3 and RM 10, and restaurant meals ranging from RM 15 to RM 30 per person. To save money, eat at hawker centers and coffee shops, where you can mix and match dishes. Also, look for lunch specials, which often include a drink and rice for under RM 10. **🚗 Getting Around** Klang is best explored by car or ride-hailing services like Grab, as many food spots are spread out. Parking in the old town can be tricky, so use the paid lots near Jalan Besar, which cost RM 1 per hour. If you're coming from Kuala Lumpur, take the KTM Komuter train to Klang station, then walk or take a short Grab ride to your first food stop.
