**🍣 Sakura Shrimp Specialties** Shizuoka is famous for its tiny pink sakura shrimp, caught only in Suruga Bay. Head to Sakura Ebi no Sato in Yui (address: 52-1 Yui, Shimizu-ku) for a bowl of sakura ebi tempura donburi, priced around 1,500 yen. The shrimp are sweet and crunchy, and the restaurant offers a view of Mount Fuji on clear days. **🍜 Shizuoka Oden** Unlike dark soy-based oden from other regions, Shizuoka oden uses a light beef broth and is served with aonori (green seaweed) and bonito flakes. Visit Odenya at Aoi Tower (Aoi-ku, 1-1-1 Minamicho) for a variety of skewers starting at 100 yen each. The stall is open from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. **🍵 Green Tea Delights** Shizuoka produces about 40% of Japan's green tea, and you can taste it in everything from soba to soft serve. Stop by Cha no Kuni Shizuoka in the Shizuoka City Museum of Art (Aoi-ku, 1-1-1 Minamicho) for a matcha parfait (800 yen). For a traditional experience, visit Maruyama Tea Plantation in Shimada (address: 1234-1 Maruyama) for a tea-tasting session starting at 1,000 yen. **🐟 Fresh Seafood at Shimizu Port** Shimizu Port is a hub for tuna, bonito, and other fresh catches. The Shimizu Fish Market (Shimizu-ku, Irifunecho) has a morning auction and several sushi restaurants. Try Sushi no Daiwa for a kaisendon (seafood bowl) with local tuna for 2,000 yen. The market is open from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, but arrive early for the best selection. **🍊 Mikan Oranges and Citrus** Shizuoka's mikan (mandarin oranges) are sweet and juicy, especially those from the Izu Peninsula. Visit Mikan no Sato in Numazu (address: 123-1 Hara) for all-you-can-eat mikan picking from November to March, costing 1,200 yen for adults. They also sell fresh juice and mikan-flavored sweets. **🍖 Unagi (Eel) from Lake Hamana** Lake Hamana in western Shizuoka is famous for its high-quality unagi. Unagi no Naruse in Hamamatsu (address: 1-1-1 Chuocho) serves a classic unagi set meal for 3,500 yen. The eel is grilled over charcoal and basted with a sweet soy sauce. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. **🍺 Local Craft Beer** Shizuoka has a growing craft beer scene, with breweries using local ingredients like green tea and wasabi. Visit Baird Beer's Taproom in Numazu (address: 1-1-1 Omiya) for a flight of four beers for 1,200 yen. They also offer small plates like beer-braised pork belly. The taproom is open from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. **🍰 Wasabi Ice Cream** For a unique treat, try wasabi ice cream, which has a mild kick and a creamy finish. The Wasabi Farm in Shizuoka City (address: 1-1-1 Wasabizuka) serves a single scoop for 350 yen. You can also buy wasabi-flavored snacks and fresh wasabi roots to take home. The farm is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
