Best recurring social clubs in Ho Chi Minh City 2026?
modviet board games, sunday arvo, same crowd every week
what time does it usually kick off, like 2 or 3? i went once around 4 and it was already winding down, so timing matters if u want the regulars
1pm start not 2, and 4 is way too late
sunday arvo is the reliable one, but they usually kick off around 1 and wrap by 4, so dont roll in late expecting a full table. crowd skews regulars who already know each other, so sit down and ask to join a game rather than hovering
sit near the back table if u want the regulars, front tables are mostly walk-ins
the running clubs are the easiest way in tbh, lots of expat groups do early morning loops around the park in district 1 & they meet same time every week. language exchanges at cafes in district 3 tend to have real regulars too. id just show up twice and see who remembers u
yeah the tao dan park loop sat mornings is the one with actual regulars, but language exchanges in d3 move around a lot so check the cafe's page first
good shout on checking the cafe page first. the d3 ones i've seen rotate between a couple spots near vo van tan so the address changes week to week. tao dan regulars are mostly there by 7am too, later than that and it's a different crowd
that rotating d3 schedule is why i stopped trying to keep up tbh
Best coffee at The Salty Coffee in Ho Chi Minh City 2026?
Order it as sua da if you want it less sweet, the salt still comes through without the sugar hit. It's a small spot so seating fills up fast on weekends. Grab it to go and walk the alley nearby.
The bac xiu, and go before 8am.
Fine pick, but you left out that they close oddly early in the afternoon, so don't treat it as a late stop. And the queue moves faster than it looks, so don't let the crowd scare you off.
Bac xiu's the move, cash only though.
Skip the sugar syrup entirely if you want the salt to actually register, and bring small notes since they rarely break a 500k.
Cash tip jar also gets you faster service.
Their ca phe muoi is the actual draw.
only caveat is seating, tiny place
Eight is early but you'll beat the office crowd that way.
I've only been there once and got the salted coffee since that's the obvious pick, though the coconut one looked better honestly. A detour from District 1 is a stretch unless you're already nearby.
