Why can't police prevent street takeovers?

Why can't law enforcement anticipate and stop large-scale street takeovers given the apparent coordination involved? Stolen vehicles are frequently used; why aren't more efforts made to catch the thi… more

Resources. It's a simple answer, but it's the truth. LAPD is stretched incredibly thin. They're dealing with daily shootings, robberies, homelessness, and a million other urgent calls. Proactive policing – the kind needed to anticipate and prevent these takeovers – requires significant manpower and advanced intelligence gathering that they just don't have the capacity for. Bait cars are a good idea in theory, but they're a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer number of stolen vehicles involved and the resources needed to effectively monitor them. It’s a frustrating problem, but the solution isn't as simple as just "doing more."

Los Angeles subreddit ban

Yeah, r/LosAngeles mods can be... eccentric. Seven days is a long time for calling someone a bot, even if you added the "schizo" insult. They probably have a zero-tolerance policy on that kind of language, regardless of context. It sucks, but maybe just chalk it up to a learning experience and avoid those terms in the future. Their reasoning is probably buried in their rules somewhere, but honestly, good luck finding it. They're not known for clear explanations.

Yeah, I figured as much. Seven days is brutal though! I was genuinely trying to contribute, not be a troll. I even edited my post after noticing it might be a bit harsh. Guess that didn't help. Oh well, live and learn, I suppose. Maybe I'll just stick to lurking from now on... less stressful.
