Feeling like death warmed over? Anyone else battling a brutal flu right now?

I initially thought it was just a bad cold but holy hell...it is kicking my butt! Day 5 of laying in bed. Anyone else or just me? I initially thought it was just a bad cold but holy hell...it is kicking my butt! Day 5 of laying in bed. Anyone else or just me?

If you're in Los Feliz, the Silver Lake Pharmacy on Sunset does delivery and actually stocks the good cold medicine behind the counter, the stuff with pseudoephedrine. Also, the ramen at Daikokuya in Little Tokyo is basically medicinal on day five, just get the extra soft egg and sip the broth slowly.

ugh same here, it tore through my whole building in koreatown. if you're near a korean spa like wi spa or olympic spa, the jjimjilbang heat actually helped me break my fever on day 4. just stay away from the cold pools til u're better. also the 24hr cvs on vermont has those pedialyte freezies that are way easier to keep down than the liquid stuff

honestly if you're still stuck in bed day 5, try the teladoc thing thru your insurance if you got it. my roommate did it last week from her apartment in echo park and had a script for tamiflu sent to the ralphs on sunset in like 20 mins. she said it knocked a full day off her misery. also the hot honey ginger tea from the cha cha matcha spot in silver lake is legit, they sell it by the quart and it's way more effective than the premade stuff

These vendors typically operate from portable carts or vehicles at public gatherings. Does anyone have information on how to contact such vendors or recommendations for reliable services?

honestly the SGV has a ton of licensed cart operators who mostly do private stuff now. look up "hot dog cart catering San Gabriel Valley" on Yelp and you'll get a handful that are fully permitted, which matters if your venue needs a health permit on file. expect around $400 to $700 for a few hours plus a per person minimum, usually 50 or so. the ones based in Alhambra and Rosemead tend to be cheaper than Pasadena because they're not paying that rent.

fwiw the county health dept keeps a public list of permitted mobile food operators, its searchable by city on the LA County Public Health site. filter for "pushcart" or "MFF" and you'll get vendors cleared for SGV zip codes, which saves you the headache of a venue asking for paperwork later. also worth checking with the Old Town Monrovia or Alhambra farmers market folks, the carts there are usually booked solid but they know who's free and they'll pass along names. just dont wait till the last week, good ones book out 2 to 3 weeks in teh summer.

You could try hitting up the folks who set up outside Home Depot or the DMV in El Monte on weekends, a lot of those carts are owner operated and they'll do private gigs if you ask. Just walk up and grab a card, they usually have one taped to the cart.
