Skin Color Tattoo Artists?

Looking for a tattoo artist that does skin color or stretch mark type of tattoos. Any recommendations? Anywhere in SoCal works!

Bonus if they have experience with black or Asian skin!

Thanks

yeah so a lot of people sleep on the permanent makeup side of things, but some of those clinics do skin color work way better than tattoo shops. like there's a spot in glendale called beauty mark studio, they mostly do brows and lip blush, but the owner trained in medical tattooing and does stretch mark blending on the side. she's korean so she gets the yellow undertone thing that shows up on a lot of asian skin. not cheap, like $150 an hour, but she's meticulous.

also, if u're cool with san diego, there's a guy at old town tattoo collective who does scar camo and stretch mark work. he's got a fine art background and posts a ton of color matching breakdowns on his story. he did a piece on a darker filipino guy's hip and honestly u couldn't tell where the marks ended. he's booked like two months out but he does a free video consult first so u can see if ur skin type is something he's worked with before.

saw someone on ig called melanink_tattoo, they travel around so cal and do a lot of stretch mark work on deeper skin tones. they post before and afters pretty regularly, might be worth sliding into their dms to see if theyre coming near u soon

fwiw there's a spot in the valley called scarred for life, they're newer but the owner came from a burn unit background. she does stretch mark blending and skin tone match work on all shades, i saw her post a vid of a filipino guy's arms and it looked seamless. they're on ventura blvd in studio city, small studio so u gotta dm them on ig for an appointment.

These vendors typically operate from portable carts or vehicles at public gatherings. Does anyone have information on how to contact such vendors or recommendations for reliable services?

honestly the SGV has a ton of licensed cart operators who mostly do private stuff now. look up "hot dog cart catering San Gabriel Valley" on Yelp and you'll get a handful that are fully permitted, which matters if your venue needs a health permit on file. expect around $400 to $700 for a few hours plus a per person minimum, usually 50 or so. the ones based in Alhambra and Rosemead tend to be cheaper than Pasadena because they're not paying that rent.

fwiw the county health dept keeps a public list of permitted mobile food operators, its searchable by city on the LA County Public Health site. filter for "pushcart" or "MFF" and you'll get vendors cleared for SGV zip codes, which saves you the headache of a venue asking for paperwork later. also worth checking with the Old Town Monrovia or Alhambra farmers market folks, the carts there are usually booked solid but they know who's free and they'll pass along names. just dont wait till the last week, good ones book out 2 to 3 weeks in teh summer.

You could try hitting up the folks who set up outside Home Depot or the DMV in El Monte on weekends, a lot of those carts are owner operated and they'll do private gigs if you ask. Just walk up and grab a card, they usually have one taped to the cart.
