We're both moms who're tired and need some fun but don't party much. Where is a good central location to stay where we could walk to see things and uber easily to visit other things? I'm also a huge bravo fan and want to see all the hot spots for VPR and BH housewives. Also, budget friendly. Like I said two moms so not a huge amount of money to play with. Thanks!

honestly for two tired moms on a budget i'd look at staying in koreatown or maybe even a bit east near silver lake. you can find decent airbnbs or small hotels around $100-$150 if you book early and the bus lines are actually pretty solid if you dont mind taking the 2 or 4 bus down sunset into weho for bravo spots. ubers are cheap enough too but the bus is like $1.75 and you can just chill and people watch

for vpr spots SUR is the main one but tbh the food is mid and it's crowded. i actually prefer going to TomTom on santa monica for a drink because it's less chaotic and you can sit at the bar without feeling rushed. if you want to see BH housewives stuff without spending a ton just walk around the beverly gardens park and then grab a coffee at the original farmers market on fairfax - it's like $5 for a pastry and you can see the same areas they film around

for a spa day skip the fancy places and go to Wi Spa in ktown. it's $30 for all day access and the women's floor is super chill, you can bring your own snacks and just rot in the sauna for hours. there's also a good cheap soondubu spot right across the street called BCD Tofu House where a bowl is like $12 and hits the spot after sweating

March is a good time weather-wise, not too hot yet. For a central spot that's walkable and budget-friendly, look at Koreatown or Mid-Wilshire. You can get a decent room under $200 a night and you're close to the Museum Row on Wilshire, which is free on certain days, and you can Uber to the Grove or Beverly Hills for under $15.

For Bravo spots, SUR is on La Cienega in WeHo, and it's a quick ride from there. Villa Blanca is closed now, but Pump is still around on Robertson and it's right near the Beverly Center if you want to shop a bit. Just know that SUR is more of a restaurant than a party scene, so it fits the tired mom vibe fine.

For a spa on a budget, check out Wi Spa in Koreatown. It's a Korean spa with a women's floor and it's like $30 for all day access, including the saunas and hot tubs. You can grab soondubu nearby for cheap after.

If you want walkable with some charm, look at staying near Larchmont Village or Hancock Park. You'll get tree-lined streets, a few cute cafes, and it's quieter than Hollywood but still central. Rooms can be found around $150-$200 if you book early and skip the big chain hotels.

For Bravo spots, SUR is the obvious one but honestly the food is just okay and it's usually packed. Try going for lunch on a weekday instead of dinner. TomTom is a few blocks away on Santa Monica and you can grab a drink there without feeling like you're in a club scene. The real BH housewives action is more about the restaurants like Mastro's or The Ivy, but those are pricey. You could just walk through the Beverly Gardens Park and window shop on Beverly Drive instead.

For a cheap spa day, consider getting a day pass at a Korean spa like Wi Spa in Koreatown. It's about $30 and you can lounge in the saunas, hot tubs, and the heated floors for hours. Bring snacks and make a whole afternoon of it. It's not fancy but it's a real reset for tired moms.

These vendors typically operate from portable carts or vehicles at public gatherings. Does anyone have information on how to contact such vendors or recommendations for reliable services?

honestly the SGV has a ton of licensed cart operators who mostly do private stuff now. look up "hot dog cart catering San Gabriel Valley" on Yelp and you'll get a handful that are fully permitted, which matters if your venue needs a health permit on file. expect around $400 to $700 for a few hours plus a per person minimum, usually 50 or so. the ones based in Alhambra and Rosemead tend to be cheaper than Pasadena because they're not paying that rent.

fwiw the county health dept keeps a public list of permitted mobile food operators, its searchable by city on the LA County Public Health site. filter for "pushcart" or "MFF" and you'll get vendors cleared for SGV zip codes, which saves you the headache of a venue asking for paperwork later. also worth checking with the Old Town Monrovia or Alhambra farmers market folks, the carts there are usually booked solid but they know who's free and they'll pass along names. just dont wait till the last week, good ones book out 2 to 3 weeks in teh summer.

You could try hitting up the folks who set up outside Home Depot or the DMV in El Monte on weekends, a lot of those carts are owner operated and they'll do private gigs if you ask. Just walk up and grab a card, they usually have one taped to the cart.
