Chateau Marmont? Are there any cooler spots for early drinks and dinner recommendations? Maybe a hotel? Help!

Try the rooftop at the Ace Hotel downtown instead of staying in WeHo. It's a longer drive from Beverly Hills, maybe twenty minutes, but the view of the Financial District at golden hour is pure LA and the pool deck has that retro 1920s vibe. Grab a seat by the fire pits, order the mezcal cocktail with the smoked salt rim, it feels celebratory without being stuffy.

For dinner nearby, walk over to Bestia in the Arts District, it's about ten minutes by car and the outdoor patio is strung with lights and full of rosemary bushes. The cacio e pepe and the bone marrow are the standouts, and the staff has always been great about making a special day feel even more so.

Honestly the courthouse itself is a hidden gem, that art deco lobby with the marble staircases is worth a few photos before you leave, most people rush out but it's one of the most beautiful municipal buildings in the city.

congrats on the courthouse elopement, that's such a good move honestly. if you want iconic but less on the tourist path, walk over to the biltmore hotel on figueroa after the ceremony, the lobby is insane marble and gold, feels like a movie set but empty on a weekday afternoon. grab a drink at the gallery bar, then for dinner head to otium near the broad, it's a fifteen minute ride and the patio is firepit cozy, order the whole roasted cauliflower and the short rib, it's got that modern LA energy without the weho pretension

chateau marmont is fun for the vibe but honestly it gets packed with tourists taking photos. if you want iconic but still cozy, try the terrace at the sunset tower hotel, it's a few blocks east and way more chill, great for golden hour drinks. for dinner nearby, walk over to the tower bar for a martini and the burger, feels very old hollywood without the chaos.

if you're up for a short drive, go to the polo lounge at the beverly hills hotel, sit outside on the patio, order the margarita and the guacamole, it's the classic spot and the gardens are pretty relaxed late afternoon. dinner after that, hit up matsuhisa on la cienega for sushi, it's a local institution, not cheap but the energy is right for a wedding day.

How can I find mobile hot dog vendors for a private event?

These vendors typically operate from portable carts or vehicles at public gatherings. Does anyone have information on how to contact such vendors or recommendations for reliable services?

honestly the SGV has a ton of licensed cart operators who mostly do private stuff now. look up "hot dog cart catering San Gabriel Valley" on Yelp and you'll get a handful that are fully permitted, which matters if your venue needs a health permit on file. expect around $400 to $700 for a few hours plus a per person minimum, usually 50 or so. the ones based in Alhambra and Rosemead tend to be cheaper than Pasadena because they're not paying that rent.

fwiw the county health dept keeps a public list of permitted mobile food operators, its searchable by city on the LA County Public Health site. filter for "pushcart" or "MFF" and you'll get vendors cleared for SGV zip codes, which saves you the headache of a venue asking for paperwork later. also worth checking with the Old Town Monrovia or Alhambra farmers market folks, the carts there are usually booked solid but they know who's free and they'll pass along names. just dont wait till the last week, good ones book out 2 to 3 weeks in teh summer.

You could try hitting up the folks who set up outside Home Depot or the DMV in El Monte on weekends, a lot of those carts are owner operated and they'll do private gigs if you ask. Just walk up and grab a card, they usually have one taped to the cart.
