Is there a place I can rent in LA to show movies + have drinks with friends?

I know you can rent AMC theatres but it has to be a movie that's currently playing, and I want to play two specific movies older movies. I've emailed some indie theatres but most haven't gotten back to me or are too small (less than 40 seats). I'm probably looking for a space for 50-75 people.

I'm wondering if there's any places for rent that just have a huge projector and then a space for seating. I'd also like to have drinks/mingling between the two movies and after the second movie.

If anyone knows of a place like this, please let me know thank you!!

The Vidiots Annex in Eagle Rock might work for you. They've got a 50-seat theater with a 35mm and digital projector, plus a full bar and patio area where people can hang out between movies. It's run by the people behind the old Vidiots video store, so they're definitely open to screening older films. You'd probably want to reach out soon though, February is a popular month for private events.

Try looking at event spaces on Peerspace or Splacer, you can filter by projector availability and capacity.

You might want to check out The Montalbán in Hollywood. They rent out their venue for private events and have a nice projector setup plus a bar area. The capacity is around 100 for the main space so it should fit your group well. Another option is The Downtown Independent on Main Street, they have a 75-seat theater and a bar right next door that you can use for the mingling parts.

How can I find mobile hot dog vendors for a private event?

honestly the SGV has a ton of licensed cart operators who mostly do private stuff now. look up "hot dog cart catering San Gabriel Valley" on Yelp and you'll get a handful that are fully permitted, which matters if your venue needs a health permit on file. expect around $400 to $700 for a few hours plus a per person minimum, usually 50 or so. the ones based in Alhambra and Rosemead tend to be cheaper than Pasadena because they're not paying that rent.

fwiw the county health dept keeps a public list of permitted mobile food operators, its searchable by city on the LA County Public Health site. filter for "pushcart" or "MFF" and you'll get vendors cleared for SGV zip codes, which saves you the headache of a venue asking for paperwork later. also worth checking with the Old Town Monrovia or Alhambra farmers market folks, the carts there are usually booked solid but they know who's free and they'll pass along names. just dont wait till the last week, good ones book out 2 to 3 weeks in teh summer.

You could try hitting up the folks who set up outside Home Depot or the DMV in El Monte on weekends, a lot of those carts are owner operated and they'll do private gigs if you ask. Just walk up and grab a card, they usually have one taped to the cart.
