Is it safe to walk around the Hollywood Palladium?

Is it safe to walk between the Hollywood Palladium area and the metro station before and after a show? Is it safe to walk between the Hollywood Palladium area and the metro station before and after a show?

Depends on your tolerance for street noise really. I've walked it after shows ending around midnight and the crowd thins out fast once you're past the Palladium parking lot. The 7-Eleven on Sunset and Vine is usually a good landmark to aim for, it's lit up and open late so you can duck in if something feels off. If you're heading to Hollywood/Vine station specifically, the underpass at Argyle is grimy but safe, just walk with purpose and don't linger.

yeah it's fine. the walk from the hollywood/vine station to the palladium is like 10 mins max. just stick to sunset blvd, it's well lit and there's usually a decent crowd heading that way before and after shows. the area between hollywood blvd and sunset can get a little weird with some homeless folks but i've never had any real trouble. just keep ur phone in ur pocket and don't stop to chat with anyone acting sketchy. if ur really nervous u can always take the 2 bus up sunset for like a buck 75

honestly the walk is totally fine, i've done it dozens of times. the stretch from the palladium to hollywood/vine station is mostly along sunset which has plenty of foot traffic and businesses open late. just be aware that vine street itself can get a bit dead between sunset and hollywood blvd after 11pm, so if ur show lets out late i'd just stay on sunset the whole way and cut over at hollywood blvd instead. the metro security is usually around the station entrance too which helps

These vendors typically operate from portable carts or vehicles at public gatherings. Does anyone have information on how to contact such vendors or recommendations for reliable services?

honestly the SGV has a ton of licensed cart operators who mostly do private stuff now. look up "hot dog cart catering San Gabriel Valley" on Yelp and you'll get a handful that are fully permitted, which matters if your venue needs a health permit on file. expect around $400 to $700 for a few hours plus a per person minimum, usually 50 or so. the ones based in Alhambra and Rosemead tend to be cheaper than Pasadena because they're not paying that rent.

fwiw the county health dept keeps a public list of permitted mobile food operators, its searchable by city on the LA County Public Health site. filter for "pushcart" or "MFF" and you'll get vendors cleared for SGV zip codes, which saves you the headache of a venue asking for paperwork later. also worth checking with the Old Town Monrovia or Alhambra farmers market folks, the carts there are usually booked solid but they know who's free and they'll pass along names. just dont wait till the last week, good ones book out 2 to 3 weeks in teh summer.

You could try hitting up the folks who set up outside Home Depot or the DMV in El Monte on weekends, a lot of those carts are owner operated and they'll do private gigs if you ask. Just walk up and grab a card, they usually have one taped to the cart.
