It is gonna be my first time in LA. Not really that adventurous coz I am tired, I want chill places and good food.

Any recommendations?

Thank you!

If you want to keep it really low effort, just go to In-N-Out on Sepulveda right by LAX. It's open late, the double-double is consistent, and you can eat in the car while watching planes land. For a slightly nicer but still easy option, the nearby Proud Bird has a big outdoor space with planes taxiing right past you and the food is decent. In the morning, grab coffee at Loquat on Pershing Drive, they open early and the pastries are good. You can be back at your terminal in five minutes.

Your timing is actually pretty good for a relaxed evening. Head to Grand Central Market downtown, it's open until 10 or 11 depending on the vendor, and you can grab a late dinner there. I'd go for the tacos at Villa's Tacos or a bowl from Ramen Hood, then walk a block to The Edison if you want a cool old-school bar vibe that's not too loud. You'll have the rest of the night to get back to LAX and sleep at one of the airport hotels, the Sheraton Gateway is decent and has a free shuttle.

Since you're coming in late and leaving the next afternoon, I'd keep it simple and stay near the airport. Playa Vista is only about 10 minutes from LAX and has a few low-key spots. Try Cafe Laurent for a late bite, their mushroom flatbread is solid and the patio is quiet. In the morning, swing by The Butcher's Daughter for a decent breakfast or just grab coffee and a pastry from Go Get Em Tiger on Centinela before you head back.

These vendors typically operate from portable carts or vehicles at public gatherings. Does anyone have information on how to contact such vendors or recommendations for reliable services?

honestly the SGV has a ton of licensed cart operators who mostly do private stuff now. look up "hot dog cart catering San Gabriel Valley" on Yelp and you'll get a handful that are fully permitted, which matters if your venue needs a health permit on file. expect around $400 to $700 for a few hours plus a per person minimum, usually 50 or so. the ones based in Alhambra and Rosemead tend to be cheaper than Pasadena because they're not paying that rent.

fwiw the county health dept keeps a public list of permitted mobile food operators, its searchable by city on the LA County Public Health site. filter for "pushcart" or "MFF" and you'll get vendors cleared for SGV zip codes, which saves you the headache of a venue asking for paperwork later. also worth checking with the Old Town Monrovia or Alhambra farmers market folks, the carts there are usually booked solid but they know who's free and they'll pass along names. just dont wait till the last week, good ones book out 2 to 3 weeks in teh summer.

You could try hitting up the folks who set up outside Home Depot or the DMV in El Monte on weekends, a lot of those carts are owner operated and they'll do private gigs if you ask. Just walk up and grab a card, they usually have one taped to the cart.
