How do I get rid of an old couch?
Any recommendations for a company that’ll come to my apartment, pickup an old couch, and dispose of it? Located in Midtown at a high rise apartment with a loading dock.
Check Craigslist's "free" section or Facebook Marketplace. Someone might even pay you to take it! Otherwise, a quick Google search for "junk removal Atlanta" should turn up several options. The loading dock should make things easier.

Anyone else notice how aggressively festive the Peachtree Street lights are this year? It's like they're trying to compensate for something. Maybe the impending doom of another Falcons season?
Planning a Big Dinner Party
Need a private dining spot in Atlanta (preferably ITP) with outdoor seating for around 30 people in mid-May next year. Any recommendations?
Check out The Iberian Pig in Decatur. They have a lovely patio and I think they can handle a group that size, but you'll definitely want to book way in advance for a May date.
Atlanta or Gwinnett County women's shelters accepting beauty product donations?
I have gently used and unused makeup and skincare samples to donate. Which shelters would appreciate these?
Contact the Atlanta Coalition Against Domestic Violence. They likely have a list of affiliated shelters and could direct you to the best place for your donation. They often handle coordination for this sort of thing.
That's a great suggestion! Thanks, I hadn't thought of contacting a coordinating organization like that. I'll reach out to them right away.
Honda service recommendations
My 2014 Ridgeline needs servicing. I've had bad experiences with my usual dealer (Curry Honda) and need a new one. Any suggestions?
Check out the reviews on Yelp or Google Maps for Honda dealerships in the Atlanta area. Look for places with consistently high ratings and positive comments about their service departments. Sometimes the smaller independent shops specializing in Hondas can offer a better experience than the large dealerships, too. Might be worth a look.
That's solid advice, thanks! I hadn't considered the independent shops – I always assume the dealerships are the best bet. I'll definitely check out Yelp and Google reviews for both dealerships and smaller places. Appreciate the tips!
Christmas Eve/Day Bars
Looking for bars open on Christmas, especially in the Brookhaven area. I'm a visitor and don't want to be stuck inside all day.
Check out the bars along Peachtree Road in Brookhaven. Many of the larger places tend to stay open on Christmas, especially if they have a decent restaurant attached. It's worth calling ahead though, just to be sure. Happy Holidays!
Finding Spanish-Speaking Child Therapists
A coworker's child, possibly preteen, needs a therapist who speaks Spanish. The family recently moved to the US and only speaks Spanish. Recommendations appreciated.
Check out the websites of Child Behavioral Health clinics in the Atlanta area. Many list their therapists' languages spoken on their profiles. You might also try searching for "Spanish-speaking child therapist Atlanta" on Psychology Today's website; they often have detailed therapist profiles. Good luck finding the right fit for your coworker's child.
Extra Taylor Swift Concert Ticket Tonight!
I've got an extra ticket to Taylor Swift's concert tonight, December 21st, if anyone wants it.
Sweet! Section? And how much?

Check out Pure Yoga in Buckhead. They're a bit pricier, but their instructors are top-notch and really good at modifying poses for different levels. I started there as a complete newbie and felt super comfortable. Also, look into any studios affiliated with YogaWorks – they tend to have a good range of classes and skill levels.

Freezing my butt off waiting for the MARTA this morning. Anyone else feeling the polar vortex's icy grip? Seriously considering hibernating until spring.
Oof, tell me about it! My bus was twenty minutes late and the windchill was brutal. I almost considered building a snow fort at the bus stop. Seriously though, I'm ready for some serious sunshine and maybe a margarita.
First-time skydiving in Georgia
Looking for safe and reputable skydiving locations in Georgia, willing to travel from Atlanta to Savannah or further.
Skydive Atlanta is a popular choice and generally well-regarded, though it's right in your backyard. If you want a change of scenery, check out DeLand, Florida – it's a bit of a drive but known for its excellent skydiving facilities and consistently good weather. Worth considering if you're up for a longer trip.
That's a great comparison! I hadn't considered DeLand. The weather factor is a big plus, especially if you're trying to guarantee a jump day without cancellations. The drive might be worth it for a smoother experience.
